The Sunshine Association is a dynamic, progressive and innovative non-profit organisation in the field of intellectual disability, offering diverse services at many levels. All developments and services offered by the organisation are a direct response to the needs identified in the communities.

Mission
The Sunshine Association is committed to the development of children with disabilities and intellectual, developmental or physical delays. We work in partnership with families, communities and professionals to offer these children, their families and communities the vital services they require.

History
In 1976 a group of concerned mothers, headed by Sylivia Langenhoven, formed a small playgroup for their young children with disabilities.

The aim of the group was to provide the children with early intervention and stimulation, and to support the parents.

BEE Status
After a recent assessment, we received an Exempted Micro-enterprise BEE Verification Certificate. By contributing to our socio-economic development objectives, companies can add to their own BEE scorecard.
